ABSTRACT

Displacement response spectra, from a set of 93 uncorrected records, founded on rock or stiff soil, taken from 40 earthquakes around the world, were developed. The correction techniques have been chosen carefully in order not to remove real long period parts of the signal. The records were grouped according to their A/V ratio and scaled and the average displacement response spectra were developed. The spectra were then compared with the recommended displacement design (response) spectra of Eurocode 8 and other leading seismic codes.
