ABSTRACT

M-1 type resin bolt was developed by using material available to suit conditions of Chinese coal mines. It is now widely used in coal mines. It has been applied in more than 220 km of openings, and in installing shaft equipment in over 50 vertical shafts. About 0.8 million resin bolts are used each year. This paper describes the characteristics of M-1 resin bolt, and demonssrates the reliability of M-1 resin bolt by mathematic analysis of the anchor and by comparisons of the measured data. It deals with the compatible deformation of the resin material and the bolt, which provides a basis for selecting the materials. M-1 resin bolts are proved to be successful and suitable for use in coal mines by practical experiences.
