ABSTRACT
In this paper, the mechanism of split set bolts, the interaction between bolts and rock masses, and the strengthening effect of rock bolting observed from some mines are described. From laboratory and field tests on split set bolts, excellent performances have been demonsrated. Satisfactory results have been achieved in their applications in drifts, openings and stopes.
