ABSTRACT
The Swellex rock “bolting system opens new possibilities for mining. A particular example is considered in which mine safety and produccivity are improved simultaneously. Furthermore the mine roof movements are not only actively controlled by the bolts but can also be accurately measured with special Swellex ground movement monitoring bolts placed in strategic positions among the other, ordinary bolts.
