ABSTRACT
The rock bolt is commonly used cement-grouted reinforcing bar, on which observations and tests have been carried out in China in recent years. In this paper the behaviours of this bolt have been analysed and studied. Regarding rock mass as a visco-elastic medium and using a rheological model with three elements, a formula of bearing capacity of a single bolt is obtained, and the support mechanism of this type of bolt in weak rock is discussed.
