ABSTRACT

The poster deals with accident prevention measures and typical hazards associated with the use of tunnel boring machines in driving operations. These specific risks are described in all details and are among others: the hazards arising from work under compressed-air conditions or when segments are placed or supply and muck pipes are extended. However, the highest risks to which tunnel workers are exposed to are the noise level and the accident risk when maintaining or servicing transport paths. The risks are not only described in all details but concrete solutions are also given to eliminate or at least minimize such risks.
