ABSTRACT
The wrapping method is a shield tunneling technology developed with the objective of improving the watertightness and durability of shield tunnels by lining the exterior of the segments with waterproof sheeting. This paper explains the method and presents the results of a demonstration in a shield tunnel that was constructed at a maximum groundwater pressure of 0.4 MPa.
