ABSTRACT

Effective grouting system needs to be developed in order to prevent leakage of water and to improve the mechanical properties of the ground, especially for tunneling in poor geological conditions. Dynamic grouting method is characterized by adding oscillating pressure to constant grouting pressure for injection, by which grout material with higher concentration can be injected in shorter time than by conventional static method. In this paper, the effectiveness of the method studied by injection tests and actual construction work is described. Also, the optimum grouting conditions for various rock mass properties are discussed.
