ABSTRACT
This paper introduces a new type of culvert using plane concrete. This RCC Culvert can be constructed step by step together with banking of the surrounding soil. The shape of the RCC Culvert is designed not to yield any tension in the body so that arrangement of reinforcing bars can be neglected. Therefore, the total construction time for such structure as a banked road with a culvert can be shortened as well as the cost reduction and durability improvement. In this paper, the construction procedure is explained and the analytical design method developed by the authors is also introduced.
