ABSTRACT

Road tunnel Mala Kapela represents the mayor crossing through rock massif of Dinarides in the southern part of Croatia and is a part of 4 year plan to connect continental part with the middle part of coastal area with the highway. In order to clarify as much as possible during bidding phase for construction works for this tunnel one risk analysis has been performed for one competitor. Risk analysis have analyzed all possible aspects that may influence design, construction, cost estimation and contractual relation in the case one competitive TBM option should be offer with this bid. Results of analysis and main discussions are showing the size and range of investigations performed by qualitative and quantitative methodology of risk analysis where the main item was comparison of NATM and TBM tunneling technologies on local market.
