ABSTRACT

The Paper presents research results of key technologies in Roller-Compacted Concrete (Hereinafter shorted as RCC) cofferdam construction of the Three Gorges Project (hereinafter shorted as TGP). The RCC cofferdam construction in TGP was featured by tight schedule, high intensity and demanding technical requirements. By means of full face spreading and roller compaction, the RCC cofferdam grew up in a continuous manner, making a number of records in the history of RCC construction, such as the monthly pouring record of 476,000 m3, daily record of 21,000 m3 and hourly record of 1265 m3. The research on RCC cofferdam construction in TGP would establish references to other similar projects.
