ABSTRACT

Use of coal dry flyash has proven to be a common dam engineering practice for many RCC dams, as far as such material is economically available. Use of flyashes type F, stored by humid method and hereafter called wet ashes, can also be a very interesting and economical solution for some RCC projects, because the main properties of the wet ashes are the same as the dry ones. This paper presents several examples of use of this material for RCC projects and other traditional concrete for dams. Some guidelines are proposed for adequate use of such material for RCC dams.
