ABSTRACT

Data are given on the optical and other physical properties of twenty-two materials that may be useful as absorption-cell windows. These materials are listed below, in alphabetical order by their complete names. This table is followed by a listing of the same materials, but in the order of increasing infrared cutoff wavelength, where the cutoff is generally defined as the wavelength for which the external transmittance of a window of specified thickness has dropped to 50%. It should be noted that these cutoff wavelengths are only approximate. This statement is even more true for short-wavelength transmission limits, which are quoted for general information only and without noting the thickness of the samples.
