ABSTRACT
At the Second International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy held at Oxford, England in September 1970, a meeting was organized by the Subcommission on Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy of IUPAC to formulate draft recommendations for the presentation of Raman spectra intended for cataloging and documentation in permanent collections. A previous meeting was held during the First International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy at Ottawa, Canada in August 1969, and in the interim several informal discussions have also taken place at various spectroscopic conferences. These meetings have been attended by a large number of Raman spectroscopists concerned with the documentation of Raman spectral data.
