ABSTRACT
The largest potential savings and benefits in material handling may come from the installation of silos for bulk delivery of raw materials. All material in the hopper or silo has the same residence time in storage. The silos can be transported in diameters up to the maximum allowed by the state highway commissions in the states through which they must be transported from the silo manufacturer to the customer's job site. The frames on which the bags are hung can be equipment with weighing devices to help with inventory control and yield calculations to keep the operators informed when they need to be changed. The feeders in the class work by feeding a constant or controlled volume of an additive into the processing stream. Mold temperature control units are designed specifically for cooling, for heating or for a combination of heating and cooling. Polymer dryers are becoming more important to a successful processing operation.
