ABSTRACT

One of the many research areas to which Professor Carlo Pucci has contributed is that of ill posed problems in partial differential equations (see e.g. Pucci [8–10]). Not only has he done pioneering work in this area, but he has also continued his research interest throughout his career. The second author first became interested in such problems through a series of seminar lectures on the subject given by Professor Pucci at the University of Maryland in 1958 (Pucci [9]).
