ABSTRACT
Let us consider the problem of having to wrap a parcel, of prescribed size and shape, containing a very delicate substance such as, for instance, an aggregrate of small crystal globules or of organic cells. In order to transport the material, we must apply some forces to its exterior envelope, but, since the material is weak, we must stiffen the envelope so that the stresses inside remain small.
