ABSTRACT
Analysis of pollen from spring deposits in the Northern Transvaal shows that bushveld vegetation generally not much different from that of the present existed north of the Soutpansberg during the last 5,000 years. A slight change in the vegetation to an apparently more open type of woodland is suggested between about 3,000 and 2,000 years BP.
