ABSTRACT
Southeast Asia Tin Research and Development (SEATRAD) Centre has developed a computerized quantitative method to obtain the most economic haulage system for different mine conditions. TRANS-1, a set of user-friendly, menu-controlled computerized transportation appraisal system incorporates filing and editing of transportation parameters; the calculation of costs for the different transportation systems commonly used in Southeast Asia and graphical presentation of the results. TRANS-1 is beneficial for transportation cost simulation in the mining industry. A concise description of TRANS-1, flowcharts for the software modules and a case study would be presented in this paper.
