ABSTRACT
Reliability investigation of an excavating-hauling system of the shovels-trucks type operating at Nchanga Open-pit, Zambia was undertaken. Data was gathered and statistical analysis of it made. Stationarity and homogenity of the observed realizations of random variables were tested, identification and estimation of distributions were done. Basic reliability factors were estimated for equipment involved. Based on the above some conclusions were drown and recommendations formulated.
