ABSTRACT
Oil sand Mining, a relatively new mining process, has greatly challenged the Maintenance Department in the Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Management fields.
This presentation will concentrate on the maintenance of the Electric drive haul trucks utilized by Syncrude Canada Ltd., for Overburden removal and Oil Sand Mining. The paper will deal with Modifications, Planning Systems, Preventative maintenance, and Component life.
