ABSTRACT

Over the last decade surface mines in Canada have searched for reliable and inexpensive ways to improve the productivity of their operations. Truck dispatching systems and loading and hauling equipment vital signs monitoring, may provide ways to achieve this objective.

In this paper the dispatching systems at surface mines in Canada are reviewed. In addition, the two most used dispatch systems in Canada, Dispatch, developed by the Modular Mining System Inc. and PMCS developed by Wenco International Mining System Ltd., are compared.
