ABSTRACT
Rhyming slang is not only limited to London’s Cockney population, but is also used in Australia and in the American underworld, and occasionally in Ireland. When spoken, the second word of the two-word phrase is omitted and therefore sounds like some sort of unintelligible code to those new to rhyming slang.
