ABSTRACT

In Bangkok, at Wat Po, one of the city’s most popular temples among tourists because of the enormous golden Reclining Buddha, there is also a school of traditional medicine. There treatments were effected through the use of mixtures of dried herbs, powdered horn and other such medicines. This medical school, which looks rather like a pharmacy from the outside, with its dried or powdered substances and coiled snakes in glass jars, can be seen by visitors to the temple grounds. The illustrations show views inside and outside this remarkable medical school in Bangkok.
