ABSTRACT

In the imaginary war between men and women, sometimes referred to by the persistently facetious, the usually gentler sex has had the long-term advantage. Throughout the entire ambisextrous life cycle, as revealed by the studious statisticians of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, females have had a significantly better mortality record than their virile complements. It has long been recognised, in fact, that muscularity and a more general hirsutism may be the only evidences of physical superiority that can be found; women have frequently demonstrated the possession of greater stamina than their bulkier mates.
