ABSTRACT

Gerasimov is not the only person to attempt facial reconstructions, and the group at Manchester University under the direction of Dr Rosalie David and including the medical artist Richard Neave is famous for their work on ancient Egyptian mummified remains. In addition, Neave and his colleagues have provided a fascinating reconstruction of a skull from a royal grave in Vergina, Macedonia, which they have proved beyond reasonable doubt to be that of King Philip II of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great. This is their story.
