Among the greater absurdities perpetrated on us is 'Daylight Saving' Time-Fearful of the night, politicians think they postpone it by renaming the hours. Calling '6 pm' by its alias '7 pm' changes only the schedules of people already independent of the Sun. Cattle still moo by solar time, and each day's sunlight ration is unaltered.
