ABSTRACT
[Professor Smith's poem about extinction concerns the small bipedal dinosaur Struthiomimus, a late one of the carnivorous dinosaurs with long fingers, by which some believe it could steal the eggs of fellow dinosaurs. This contribution was written for Professor J B S Haldane on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday; in the original version the penultimate line started 'Remember Prof.']
