ABSTRACT
One day I questioned Harold Knox, who was working on his dissertation, as to just what he was doing in the Neutron Lab. (They were using an old Cockcroft–Walton.) They always seemed to be a clandestine bunch over there anyway. He informed me that they made error bars. Of course, I asked to see a sample of their work, and shortly thereafter I received this letter.
