ABSTRACT

In order to clarify the reasonable conditions under which a steel fiber reinforced high-strength sprayed concrete lining (SFRS) can be applied to a squeezing tunnel with time dependency; a numerical analysis of non-linearity is conducted. The advance velocity of the tunnel face progress, the time dependency of the strength of SFRS, the elasto-plastic behavior of the steel supports, and the visco-elastic characteristics of the ground are all taken into account in the analysis. A comparison between analytical and field measurement results shows that the results obtained through this analysis have sufficient accuracy for practical applications. Consideration is given to the use of SFRS to a squeezing tunnel.
