ABSTRACT
For a full face excavation of a single-track railway tunnel, a TBM construction method has not been used in Japan so far. But we will apply this method to the Yamba tunnel for fast excavation. In order to check propriety of this method, we plan to set a test section at start of excavation for 300m-long. We report and introduce our forward exploration methods and setting of primary support criteria in this paper.
