ABSTRACT

In this study, pressure and vacuum filtration of fine grained calcite, dolomite, kaolin and quartz minerals have been investigated in the presence and absence of a non- ionic and an anionic surfactant. The experiments which have been carried out in a standard pressure filtration test unit showed that filtration rate of the minerals increases with the increasing pressure and surfactant addition into the mineral suspension. The surfactant treatment has also decreased the residual moisture content of the cakes of the investigated minerals for both pressure and vacuum filtration.
