ABSTRACT

Heavy metals, including uranium, represent the most dangerous pollutant substances of the environment. The objective of this paper is to present the quantitative determination of the different forms of uranium by fractional extraction method. Successive application of the extraction media of ascending extraction power provided the separation of the following fractions: water soluble and accessible adsorbed uranium, specifically adsorbed and uranium incorporated to the carbonates, iron and manganese oxides, organic matter as well as residual fraction of uranium in the silicates structure.
