ABSTRACT

In order to improve the clear-up efficiency of waste waters from coal preparation plants a series of research has been carried out at the University of Petrosani, involving the treatment of the suspension in an electric field. For this purpose, two original devices were used: an emulsifier for the polyacrylamidic macromolecular flocculating reagent and an electrolyser. Taking into account the simultaneous action of all the parameters involved in this process, the EVOP simplex method of optimisation with self regulation was employed in order to find out the optimal field that provides the range of the colloidal state content within the limitations specified by the existing regulations regarding the discharge of the used waters into natural receivers.
