ABSTRACT

In this study, concentration of celestite by oil agglomeration was investigated. Determination of suitable collector type, bridging liquid and its concentration, and the effects of pH, stirring speed and time were examined. At the end of the experiments, the optimum conditions were determined as the following: concentration of collector; 13.33 kg/ton, bridging liquid concentration; 10%, pH; ~8, stirring speed; 750 rpm, stirring time; 15 minutes. Celestite-gypsum mixture was agglomerated at the optimum conditions determined for celestite and celestite concentrate containing 0.4 % gypsum was obtained with a 98 % recovery.
