ABSTRACT

Trachytes contain significant amounts of alkali feldspars. Therefore, they are alternative new feldspar resource and their possibilities of use in ceramic industry should be investigated. In this work, the concentration of feldspar from trachyte sample using rare-earth permanent magnetic roll separator (PERM-ROLL) was studied and the possible use of obtained concentrate in the ceramic industry was investigated. The results indicated that a concentrate containing 11.10% total alkali (%Na2O + %K2O) and 0.16% Fe2O3 was obtained from a feed containing 8.28% total alkali and 2.02% Fe2O3.
