ABSTRACT

The goal of this study is to investigate the production of industrial-grade feldspars suitable for various sectors, especially the ceramics industry by eliminating its impurities from the ingredients. In this regard, the Simav-Daġardi feldspar minerals are recovered by flotation process at three stages. In the first stage, mica is removed from the sample, next, iron and color impurities in the second stage and finally feldspar-quartz separation being done at the third stage. The chemical analysis of feldspar mineral consists of 70,12% SiO2, 17.22% Al2O3, 6.02% K2O, 3.84% Na2O, 0.46% Fe2O3, 0.86% CaO, 0.36% MgO and 0.01% TiO2. From the flotation test, a feldspar concentrate containing 7.55% K2O, 4.53% Na2O, 0.22% Fe2O3 content is produced with recovery rates of 65.27%, 61.44% and 21.44%, respectively. This final feldspar concentrate is suitable for the ceramic industry.
