ABSTRACT

In this paper, the results on obtaining natural iron-oxide pigments ocher and red color from goethite-limonite ore are presented. The pigment ocher colour was obtained by dry ore grinding and classification, the red pigment by calcined ore grinding. Ore calcination temperature was determined according to DTA and TG diagram. Characterization of obtained and referent pigments was performed by differential thermogravimetric, XRD, colorimetric (CIE L,a,b) methods. Particle size distribution, densities and oil adsorption properties were determined too. Use of obtaining pigments for coloring PVC floor tiles also investigated.
