ABSTRACT
The pressure resulting from the interaction of the shaft lining and the rock mass, produces shaft lining resistance. The paper gives a graphic presentation of the effects of shaft lining resistance on the size of the plastic zone around the shaft, based on the stress calculation accomplishment by an MCAD programming package.
