ABSTRACT

Over the last years there has been significant development in the technology and systems for industrial applications of image processing and analysis. This paper describes two applications for which software development and systems design has resulted in on-line automatic systems for process information and process control and one interactive system for analysis of fragmentation after blasting. The applications are:

On-line analysis of fragmented rock giving analog output signals containing information of and variations in size, size distribution, shape etc.

On-line analysis of the combustion in a solid fuel combustion bioler (roster-type) where video images are processed and analysed with regard to temperature and temperature distribution of the flame and coordinates and positioning of the burning bed. Output (4–20 mA) is forwarded into a process control system dynamically controlling the boiler with respect to changes in fuel, humidity, production demand, and to minimize emission of NOx and CO2.

Interactive system for analysis of fragmentation after blasting, where large blocks are present.
