ABSTRACT

To compare the performance of automated image processing systems for measuring rock fragmentation, a series of validation tests were conducted at the laboratory of Lafarge Canada in Belleville, Ontario. Three systems, FragScan, WipFrag and Split, were used to measure the particle size distribution of a backfill muck pile from Holloway Joint Venture and to compare with the actual sieving results. This paper presents details of the test set-up and results.
