On-line system for monitoring the size distribution of aggregates on a conveyor belt

The system includes four main parts: image acquisition system set-up, aggregate image classification and selection, aggregate image segmentation and estimation of aggregate size distribution. The system has been tested in three quarries with washed railway aggregates, and the test results show that it works in a reasonably promising way. Further development is suggested.
