ABSTRACT

Landslide mitigation measures have been planned based on the stability analysis using the simplified method. This paper suggests a stability analysis method of innovative three-dimensional stability analysis which expands the simplified method to three-dimensions while employing the conventional stability analysis by slices for simple calculations for complicated landslide configurations. Using an extensively studied landslide as a model, this paper compares the results of stability analysis by different methods. The results show that for the innovative three-dimensional stability analysis is about 20% smaller than the required restraint force, compared with the simplified method.
