Metamorphic evolution of the Panafrican basement in the Meidob volcanic field (Darfur Dome, Sudan)

Petrological investigations on basement samples from the Meidob volcanic field indicate a clockwise P-T path from the kyanite into the sillimanite stability field. Maximum pressures were 7–9 kbar at temperatures of 650 to 750°C, followed by a quasi-isothermal decompression of 3 to 4 kbar and a subsequent cooling.
