ABSTRACT

The Late Cretaceous to Paleocene facies evolution of NE Somalia is exemplified with the aid of the Tisje section, Ahl Meskat Mountains. The shallow marine character of sedimentation throughout the sequence and across the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary is emphasized and palaeobiogeographical relations are briefly discussed.
