ABSTRACT

The influence of disrupted zones or dislocations in general in a rock mass on the occurrence of rock-bursts is indisputable. However, the question often discussed is whether and which area next to dislocation affects the stress state of rock mass positively or negatively. Using examples of Ostra-va-Karviná coal district,we would like to present in a brief contribution our geomechanical and geological views concerning the probable influence of tectonic dislocation on the occurrence of rock-bursts and on their probable mechanisms.
