ABSTRACT
The paper compares lab data obtained from a special experimental models from physically equivalent material and results from a mathematical model which enclude nonlinear behaviour along the dislocations.
The coupled modelling (physical and mathematical models) gives a possibility to remove disadvantageous of both the models and bring new views into the problematics. As an example of our investigation we present the case of failure mechanism of rock mass pillar with adit and joints.
