ABSTRACT

The paper proposes a method for evaluation of stress-strain state of bar structures in soil. This method is based on FEM for equilibrium of rectilinear bars in soil within the linear Timoshenko model. Implementation of exact solutions in FEM increases efficiency of calculation, because the solution should not be made consequently more precise, therefore additional refinements of meshes are not necessary. This method has been applied to design of pile structures and is tested on a specific example of calculation of a single pile situated in heterogeneous soil. Calculation results are shown.
