ABSTRACT

The numerical-and-analytical technique presented here is a variety of the direct boundary element method and differs from the well-known modifications in the fact, that the R.Mindlin’s solution on concentrated force in the half-space along the surface of the flat boundary elements is fully integrated. The formulae obtained allow a quick and reliable computation of the coefficients of the matrix of the resolving linear algebraic equations system. The solutions of the three-dimensional contact problems for flat rectangular and volume step punches are presented and compared.
