ABSTRACT
Within this paper a large scale groundwater model for open pit mining and its calibration will be presented. The calibration of the hydraulic conductivity is done automatically by a program called PEST. There is a short description of the groundwater model, its numerical program GW3D and the calibration program. The real-world case study open pit mining Buekkabrani (Hungary) will demonstrate the effectiveness of the calibration and some results are presented.
